Why Dont You Carry Ray-Ban or Oakley??

Why dont you carry RayBan? Oakley? We get this question often.

1. We only support independent brands of eyewear made ethically and from the best materials. The costs go to supporting families in Japan, Italy, France, Germany, and the USA.

2. RayBan uses injection molded plastic made from petroleum and nickel based metals which many are allergic to and are cheap materials. Our brands use cotton based acetate cut from blocks, stainless steel and pure titanium.

3. The Brands we sell, we know personally the designers, reps and know where they are manufactured.

4. Choice. Luxottica owns your eye insurance company, the “designer” brands, the lens made from Essilor/Varilux and the vast majority of eyeglass chains.

5. We have been supporting independent eyewear for 20 plus years and at The Last Optical we only sell frames that are made to Last!

Once you compare the quality of Ray-Ban or Oakley to Mykita, Bevel, Salt Optics, Lunor or literally anything we support, its like comparing a Casio watch to a Rolex. Sure they are both watches….but one has style, lasts for years or decades if taken care of, and is better in every way.
